Historical Empress Hotel

Amble through the historic town of Stewart viewing historic homes and buildings.  In particular, the former Empress Hotel built in 1908 by Alvo Von Alvensleben opened in 1910 was the most upscale hotel in the North and rivaled that of the Empress Hotel in Victoria.  Still standing today, it remains the largest building in Stewart.  Guided walking tours of the historic town site is available by special request at the Stewart Museum.
