The Lakes Artisan Centre opened June 2010 as a cooperative. It was formed because a group of local artists and artisans were looking for a space to showcase their creations to both local residents and to tourists.

The Lakes Artisan Cooperative consists entirely of local artists and artisans who share in the operation of the store. They can often be seen working on their creations when you visit the Artisan Centre.
The cooperative members enjoy working with their local customers throughout the year and with visitors from around the world during the summer months.
