Conroy Cabin

Tom Conroy built this finely crafted two-story home in the first year of World War I with the hope of finding a wife. This home is constructed primarily of locally-sourced materials, namely logs, hand-hewn timbers, hand-split cedar shakes and moss. In keeping with its time, the building has relatively small windows, a design feature which minimized both winter heat loss and cost of construction. Not withstanding the fine quality of his home, Mr. Conroy - ironically - never did marry.
